About the archive
Marks Tey Heritage Archive is a digital archive that collects information which can contribute to a better understanding of the history of Marks Tey and add to the overall picture of the village’s past and present. We cover the Civil Parish of Marks Tey, including Little Tey. We sometimes collect information relating to a wider area if it has a strong connection to Marks Tey.
About the Marks Hey Heritage Project
The Marks Tey Heritage project, running from 2024–2025, is a National Lottery Heritage Funded project centred around St Andrew’s Church. The project will be gathering and organising material to explain the history and heritage of not only of St Andrew's but also of various aspects of the village. Work is already underway in the scanning thousands of pages of documents and photographs. Although a large collection of photographs is held by our local historians it is very much hoped that more will come to light so that they can be copied for posterity.
By the end of 2025 there will be this digital archive, which we will continue to add to, hard hat tours during the works on the tower, exhibitions in the church with interactive material and a collection of oral histories from residents on their memories of the village.
