Interview

I interviewed my next door neighbour to see what they thought of Marks Tey as a village.

They moved here because it was close to the railway station and so easier to get to work in Chelmsford. The house prices being cheaper than in Chelmsford.

A disadvantage of the village is that there is no recreation for young children in playing field and one of their suggestions to improve the village was to make a footbridge over the railway so that children could easily get to the playing field, without walking along A120 or A12.

There moved here six months ago, and to do the bulk of their shopping in Colchester using the village shops for bits and items forgotten.

Having two young children they find it difficult to go out and so they watch television or listen to the radio as their main source of entertainment.
