Winter 1971, and the mighty Marks Tey Motor Hotel is taking shape. Most of the construction workers pictured here have trendy long hair - but not one hard hat amongst them. A leaflet issued shortly afterwards to announce the hotel's opening in Summer 1972 offered single rooms at £4.50, twin/double rooms at £7.50 and suites from £12 - all rates to include English or Continental breakfast.
