Romaines Cafe had burnt down and there were complaints that the site with the bungalow next door was an eyesore. It was on London Road at the top of Mill Road.

Romaines Cafe at Marks Tey has received several nominations for this week's Blot on the Landscape. The cafe and its adjoining bungalow have been empty for some time, but since the cafe burnt down it has become an eyesore to its neighbours - one of whom said he believed the site had been bought by a developer who wanted to build houses there.
