Butchers Cottage, formerly Butchers Farmhouse also known as Songers, is one of only three remaining thatched cottages in Marks Tey. The cottage is timber-framed with wattle and daub infill panels. The earliest phaser at the west end is late 15th century to early 16th century in character with a crown-post roof.
