An account of property acquired by farmer Daniel Tampion and the newsworthy incidents that happened to him, including the amputation of a boy's finger, the theft of horses and a hen, and a fire at his farm which destroyed produce, caused by Thomas Park carelessly disposing of a match after lighting his pipe. Daniel Tampion's house built in 1857 was The Villa, Old London Road.
