Description

The tragic story of the death of Betty Raven, aged 8y, who died on Sunday, 10 January 1937. She and her younger brother were about to cross the road to Coggeshall (now the A120) when she rushed into the road to save the boy. The driver of the approaching car did not see her. There was a witness in a stationary car close by. Betty was killed but Norman survived. Her funeral was held at Little Tey church and the inquest at the Church Hall in Marks Tey.
