Mrs. Doris Kettle has been "Mum" to the young pupils of Marks Tey primary School, for the past 12 years but on Friday it was time to say goodbye. Mrs. Kettle, of London Road, Marks Tey, has been a midday, assistant keeping an eye on the children when they have their lunch and during playtime. To mark her retirement, the chairman of the School Managers, Mr. Edward Hine, presented her with a rose bowl from the pupils, staff and managers and Mrs. Norma, Hyams presented a food mixer from the kitchen and caretaking staff.
