At their monthly meeting the Council congratulated Mr & Mrs Folkard on their Golden Wedding on 5 November and presented them with a gold safety pin for Mrs Folkard and a Westminster chimes clock to Mr Folkard who lived in Copford. Mr W H Collier spoke of Mr Folkard's 43 years of service on the Lexden and Winstree Council.
