Description
Frederick Everitt was employed as a postman in Colchester. He travelled with a pony and trap delivering to Stanway, Marks Tey and Aldham. He suffered with a persistent leg ulcer then had an accident at work that produced broken ribs and contusions. He retired and died in 1926.
His son Harold Jack Everitt (known as Jack) also worked as a rural postman delivering between Colchester and Aldham. Grandson, Ken Everitt was also a postal worker.
