This document is based on historical and practical research done by Andrew Waters when there was a dispute with the Highways Authority over the ownership of land that had been used for a car park for the church and church hall. This happened when the new Rectory was being built and the former Rectory was being sold c2011. (Verges can refer to more than just grass.)
