IAIN Birtwell is settling in as the new headteacher of St Andrew's School in Marks Tey. He took over from Stephen Cudmore at the start of the new term following an eight-year stint as headmaster of Wimbish Primary School. He has been teaching for 25 years and this is his second headship.

He said: "I have a magnificent staff and some wonderful children. "I also spend a lot of my time teaching the children which I enjoy — once a teacher always a teacher."
