Transcript

TEACHER Judith Waters has retired from Marks Tey Primary School after chalking up 21 years in the job. Pupils presented her with cards and a hand embroidered sampler showing some of her favourite sports to mark her time at the school. Every child had worked on some part of the picture. Parents and friends gave her a cheque to buy a water colour, and the school governors presented her with a flower arrangement.

Head teacher Mrs E. Pickford thanked Mrs Waters for her work with three generations of students and wished her a long and happy retirement. Past and present staff members were invited to a tea party held in her honours, while pupils from her class acted as waiters. Mrs Waters presented the school with an Endeavor Shield which was given to Josie De La Rue for her hard work during the year.
