Description

There has been a special resolution that Marks Tey Labour Club and Institute could be disbanded. Founded 50 years before, membership had dropped from 150 people to none who had paid their subscriptions. Mr Walter Todd of 210 London Road, who had been an original member and shareholder and was now 82y, said it was a pity as the hall was the only such building in the village. The club had no political leaning but ran whist clubs and dances.

Walter Todd was born in 1883 so he would have been 82 in 1965.
