Ruth Barnett was the daughter of George Frederick Beeching (known as Fred). Fred's parents were Benjamin Beeching and Maud Coe. Maud's father, John Coe, was the station master at Marks Tey station. Although Ruth was born in Canada the family moved back to England. When Ruth was elderly her daughter, Carol Martin, recorded her memories.
