Description

John Wagstaff with his wife and family moved to Church Farm, Marks Tey around 1863 and was the first recorded brick maker. This account traces the family through the census returns and other records. In 1879 the brickworks were sold to W H Collier. Thomas Philip Wagstaff takes over at Church Farm. One of his sons died in the Battle of the Somme in WWI.
