Description

An account of Blundell family history written by descendant David Poore. Edmund Blundell came to Marks Tey from Kent in 1903 to works for seed company Dobbies.

'Edmund and Emma lived at Glebe Cottage, London Road in Marks Tey but the residence no longer exists today. Edmund worked at Dobbies until 1917 when he turned 61. He then worked as a gardener at Marks Tey Hall for Mr F Barritt for about three years before becoming a gardener at The Rectory – a post he remained in until 1933 when he retired at the age of 77. By this time Edmund was alone as Emma had passed away in January 1929, aged 75. Edmund suffered from chronic bronchitis and, together with heart complications, he died on 14 May 1936 aged 80.'
