Description

From David Poore:

From right to left in the back row is George Poore (27) my grandfather, Beatrice (29) my grandmother, Robert (18) my great-uncle (‘Bob’). The lady on the left has not been identified. I doubt she is Ethel as she was married in 1904, so I can only assume it is Kate (24) who died at some point before 1911 but may still have been living in the family home in Marks Tey. In the front row again from right to left is Edmund Blundell (51) and Emma (53). Cyril Poore is the little 6-year old boy standing next to his grandmother, who has on her lap my father Ivor Leslie who looks to be about 18 months old (he was born 20 January 1906 and that is how I have come to date this photo). I have no idea who the little girl is standing between the legs of Edmund. George and Beatrice’s two daughters Marjorie and Olive were born after this photo was taken. Ethel’s children Ronald and Kathleen were only born in 1907 and 1910 respectively. Is the little girl related to Kate (?) in the back row? The photo therefore seems to be a memory of the occasion of a visit by my grandparents with their two children to Beatrice’s parents Edmund and Emma in Mark Tey circa 2007. There is no written note, though, on the reverse of the photo.
